A partnership of learning organisations from Hampshire and the Isle of Wight

Supporting learning in the voluntary and community sector.

Active Learning for Residents is a community based learning scheme that is being piloted by the Chartered Institute of Housing. Testway Housing is the delivery partner in Hampshire, and the scheme is primarily aimed at Testway clients but is open to anyone who lives in Test Valley.
The aim is to recognise the work that many people do in the community and also to provide people with more opportunities to become involved. There are no exams and nothing to pass or fail. This is a course that is designed around you as a Learner and is completely free! Find out more - ring Hazel on 01264 404004, or email.

The Department of Children, Schools & Families' website explaining the new Diploma available to young people from September 2007.
'It’s an alternative to the traditional GCSE or A level route, but keeps just as many options open. It’s a qualification that you can start in Years 10 and 12 or above, and could lead to further study or to a job with training.
The Diploma will help you to develop the skills and experience that employers, universities and colleges really value. These skills include teamwork and creating thinking, and will help to prepare you for wherever you want to go in life. You’ll also develop your skills in English, maths and ICT.'
